Dr. Jill Varnes

Dr. Jill Varnes retired from the University of Florida after 37 years in education. She is the author of numerous journal articles on health and has received research funding from NIH/NCI. During her career she held leadership positions in a number of professional organizations and has been recognized for her leadership, service, and teaching both nationally & internationally.

Dr. Julia Varnes

Dr. Julia Varnes is currently teaching in the Department of Health Education and Behavior (HEB) at the University of Florida. A Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES), she has worked in the field for over a decade, including at UF’s Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program (in College of Medicine) and GatorWell Health Promotion Services.

This Course is organized into eleven chapters covering various elements of health education. Topics include psychosocial health, physical health including nutrition and fitness, diseases and disorders, sexuality, alcohol and other drugs, environmental health, health consumerism, healthy aging and more. Select course content is reviewed with high-quality video lessons.

Self-Test Quizzes

Chapter and cumulative reviews help students test comprehension and retention in preparation for exams and real-world applications. In the self test atmosphere incorrect questions will continue to auto repopulate until they are answered correctly.
